The Macallan Completes The Harmony Collection Series with Two Final Coconut-Inspired Expressions
The Macallan has announced the final expressions of The Harmony Collection, a series that stands out for its nature-inspired concept and sustainable packaging design. The brand marks the conclusion of this collection with two special single malt expressions focused on coconut flavor profiles: Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut.
Having previously delivered extraordinary flavor profiles focused on Rich Cacao, Intense Arabica, or tea nuances such as Cherrywood Lapsang Tea, The Harmony Collection brings the coconut nuances—typically arising from bourbon cask maturation—to the glass in this final installment of the series.
Cask Selection and Character: The Emergence of Coconut
The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team experimented with a tailored cask combination to highlight coconut notes, which rarely take center stage so prominently in the distillery’s standard character. Both expressions were matured using a blend of sherry-seasoned American oak casks and ex-bourbon casks. The natural vanilla and coconut aromas derived from the structure of American oak aim to impart a rich depth to the whisky through this cask equilibrium.
The Macallan Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell explains the new series with these words:
"In this final edition of The Harmony Collection, through precise cask selection and maturation processes, we have brought coconut notes to the heart of the whisky. The result is two distinct expressions of exceptional balance, showcasing both the natural influence of oak and the craftsmanship of our team."
New Expressions and Tasting Notes
The Macallan Harmony Collection – Inspired by Fresh Coconut (46.3% ABV): Fresh coconut, citrus, and tropical fruit notes come forward on the nose and palate. The palate delivers coconut milk, lime, and a subtle sweetness, while leading to a fresh and floral texture on the finish.
The Macallan Harmony Collection – Inspired by Toasted Coconut (46.3% ABV): Aromas of toasted coconut, caramel, and white chocolate on the nose. The palate presents a full-bodied and aromatic profile with nuances of coconut truffle, roasted pineapple, and almond. This expression is available exclusively in Duty Free.
Sustainable Packaging and El Celler de Can Roca Collaboration
One of the signature features of The Harmony Collection is its eco-friendly packaging design. In this final edition, repurposed coconut fibers and agricultural waste were upcycled through an emission-free process into specialized black-toned presentation boxes.
Additionally, the brand partnered once again with legendary pastry chef Jordi Roca of the world-renowned El Celler de Can Roca restaurant—a long-standing collaborator—to craft dessert and pairing experiences (TimeSpirit) designed to complement these whiskies.
Both expressions will be available to whisky enthusiasts globally starting August 2026 at a recommended retail price of £140. While Inspired by Fresh Coconut will be available at select retail outlets, Inspired by Toasted Coconut will be sold exclusively in airport Travel Retail stores.
