Glenmorangie Signet Reserve
Released in 2025 by Glenmorangie, one of the leading distilleries in Scotland’s Highland region, Glenmorangie Signet Reserve is bottled at 46% ABV from a cask selection comprising bourbon, virgin oak, and Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks.
The original Glenmorangie Signet has long enjoyed legendary status among whisky enthusiasts, a fact consistently reflected in both my tastings and industry discussions. The distinct roasted and sweet nuances derived from heavily roasted chocolate malt are undoubtedly Signet's defining signature. The key distinction in the new Signet Reserve lies in its increased use of virgin oak alongside a higher proportion of aged PX sherry casks.

| Nose | Notes of caramel, cappuccino, and chocolate are accompanied by orange peel and dried fruit. Subtle spicy nuances of black pepper and cinnamon also emerge. Full-bodied and aromatic. |

| Palate | Echoing the nose with a sweet and aromatic character. Flavors of vanilla, caramel, raisins, orange, and dark chocolate are supported by cinnamon, oak, and almond. Mouth-coating with a silky texture. |
| Finish | A long finish layered with notes of raisins, oak, cinnamon, and almond. |
| Overall: | Glenmorangie Signet Reserve successfully delivers a full-bodied and aromatic character born from its chocolate malt and complex maturation. Compared to the classic Signet, the cask-driven spice profile is noticeably more dominant in the Signet Reserve. However, another crucial distinction between the two lies in the price tag, with the Signet Reserve commanding nearly double the price of the original... |
