NoseVanilla, apple pie, pear, and coconut are joined by fresh oak, incense, and ginger. With time in the glass, aromas of cedar, incense, and tropical fruits emerge more prominently.
PalateSweet, rich flavors of vanilla, white chocolate, coconut, and honey are layered with tropical fruits, black pepper, and ginger. Exceptionally creamy and mouthwatering in texture.
FinishLong, with notes of ginger, black pepper, honey, and candy apple.
Overall:Glengoyne Mizunara Oak stands out for its extended 6 years of maturation in Mizunara casks, a rare approach, as this oak is usually reserved for shorter finishes. The result is a layered and intriguing whisky. I particularly enjoyed the evolving richness on the nose and the soft, approachable palate, despite its bold and rich spice.
