Glen Scotia 12 Year Old
From one of Campbeltown’s historic distilleries, Glen Scotia has added a new 12-year-old expression to its classic range, which already includes 10, 15, 18, and 25-year-old bottlings: Glen Scotia 12 Year Old. Matured for 12 years in first-fill bourbon casks, this new release is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with no added colouring.

| Nose | The signature tropical fruit and salty aromas we’ve come to expect from Glen Scotia are prominent. Mango, pineapple, apricot, and citrus notes are joined by salt, aged oak, and honey. Fresh, aromatic, and well-balanced. |
|---|---|
| Palate | The coastal character comes forward first on the palate, leaving an impression as if you’ve eaten salted nuts. This is followed by sweet flavours like citrus peel, vanilla, and honey, along with cinnamon, ginger, and oak. As the whisky breathes in the glass, its fruity character becomes more pronounced. |
| Finish | Medium length, with notes of salted nuts, citrus, and cinnamon. |
| Overall: | Glen Scotia 12 Year Old delivers its tropical fruit and salty character in full. It truly lives up to the “tropical fruit & coastal spray” note printed on the label. I especially enjoyed its fresh and balanced character on the nose. While the salty character felt slightly dominant at first on the palate, it settled into better balance after some time in the glass. I’d also say this expression offers strong value for money. |
